Apple employees organize to push for “real change” in the company

A group of current and former Apple employees is calling on their colleagues to share the stories of discrimination, harassment and retaliation they experienced while working for the company. The call to action rose on Monday when the group started a Twitter account called Apple workers.

“For too long, Apple has escaped public scrutiny,” the group says of its products website. “When we push for accountability and redress for the persistent grievances we see or experience in our workplace, we experience a pattern of isolation, degradation, and gassing.”

The protesting workers say they have exhausted all internal avenues to obtain compensation from the company, which is why they are publicizing their complaints. They say, “We spoke with our leadership. We went to the personnel team. We escalated with professional conduct. Nothing changed.” “It’s time to think differently.”

according to the edge, About 15 individuals participated in the effort regulation. Earlier today, they shared the news on a 200-person Discord server for Apple employees and contractors. We have reached out to Apple for comment.

The action comes as Apple faces questions about its handling of sexism in the workplace. In August, the company appointed Ashley Jovik, Senior Director of Engineering Programs Paid administrative leave. In a series of tweets, Gjøvik shared several interactions with the company’s employee relations team. One such detail is an episode in which a director referred to her “tone” in presentations and said, “I didn’t hear you ratchet up at the end of your remarks.” Apple is currently investigating Gjøvik’s allegations.

Gjøvik says in website Made to chronicle her experience in the company. “I only resorted to this because everything I’ve tried internally has failed.”
