(Reuters) – British airline EasyJet (LON) on Monday appointed former RBS CEO Stephen Hester as its chief executive, replacing John Barton, who will step down in December after nine years in the job.
Hester most recently served as CEO of RSA Insurance (OTC:) which is now privately owned and has more than three decades of experience in various industries, having worked in British Land, Abbey National and Swiss credit (Six 🙂 First Boston.
“His (Hester’s) large and diverse experience of leading major international companies in regulated industries, along with his outstanding strategic thinking, will serve the airline well,” Barton said in a statement.
